In these complex times, making the choice to come and spend time in Israel means playing an active role in the country’s renewal. As the hotels, tourist sites, and attractions of the Golan Heights and the Galilee are now reopening, it’s the perfect time to head north and embark on a trip that’ll lead you to some of the country’s most beautiful spots, and allow you to provide vital support to the region’s small and medium-sized businesses as you do so. These businesses are precisely what constitutes the beating heart of Israel’s beautiful north. The people behind them have often been deeply affected by the war – many are reservists back from prolonged reserve duty, and all are now eagerly awaiting the return of tourists and travelers, and for their beloved region to rebuild and recover. In our magazine this month, we’ve collected 17 recommendations of fun activities to enjoy up north, from picking cherries, to sculpture workshops, and coffee carts in the middle of nature. Continuing in this spirit of solidarity, we
sat down with Ayelet Razin Bet Or, co founder of the “Nitzan Foundation” – an important World Zionist Organization initiative born in the wake of October 7, working to reduce gender gaps, combat violence against women, and assist in the economic and occupational rehabilitation of women affected by the war. Razin Bet Or talks to us about the progress made on the ground and calls on companies and businesses to become strategic partners so as to bring about significant societal change. And as always, our magazine is full of articles, tips, and recommendations, including for some of our favorite restaurants across the country, where the view is as good as the food; and our designer section this month puts a spotlight on designer items celebrating the colors and motifs of the spring to enhance and liven up any interior. As we hope for many more days of national pride and good news, I wish you a pleasant read and a peaceful flight, Nava Marton @nava.marton I nava@atmospheres.co.il

A new luxury resort in the Kinneret The Shevet Achim Group, owners of the Dream Island Resort in the south of Israel, has announced plans to inaugurate a chain of hotels in the Kinneret, including a luxury resort near the town of Migdal that’s expected to open in March 2027. The Negev has officially been recognized as an international wine region
The Negev has recently received its own official “appellation of origin” label. The recognition was obtained following a four-year process that included a series of tests and studies that revealed the unique mineral “fingerprint” of the wines produced in this part of the world. The push to obtain the recognition was instigated by the Mirage Israel Foundation, which has been at the forefront of the development of the Negev winemaking industry. The new “Negev” appellation covers wines made between Kiryat Gat and Eilat, comprising approx. 60 wineries and vineyards that collectively produce more than a million bottles a year. Wine was produced here as far back as in Biblical times, but only in the 20th c., thanks to innovative technologies, was it possible to start making wine in this desertic part of the world again, proving that even in an era of global warming, it’s possible to find new ways of cultivating vines in even the most arid environments.

8 tips for a successful multigenerational trip abroad As we all know, grandparents love spoiling and pampering their grandkids – and what could be more pampering than a trip abroad with gran and granddad? But for everyone to actually enjoy the vacation, a bit of planning ahead is necessary. Here are a few tips to help you make it work / By Roni Langerman-Ziv
01 Choosing the right destination. Many grandparents take their
terstock Photo: Shut
grandchildren on Bar/Bat Mitzvah trips, which is an age when children already have clear preferences, likes and dislikes. Make sure you opt for the kind of trip and destination you know everyone will enjoy. 02 Managing expectations. Make sure the kids know what their grandparents consider to be ok to do - and what is not - before the trip itself, as well as what they are allowed to do on their own. Establish safety and behavior rules, show them pictures of the destination and ask each of them what is the one thing they most want to do - this will help avoid disappointment down the line. 03 Planning the trip route. Keep the pace relaxed to prevent burnout and frustration. Involve the children in planning the route, pick one or two points of interest to explore each day and include time for free and spontaneous enjoyment within the plan - and have a plan B ready in case plans change last minute. 04 Planning ahead. Long journeys and waiting in line can be challenging, both for you and the kids. When you pick your destination, leave time for stops on
the way. Also, when possible, get tickets in advance to places you plan to visit so as to avoid long queues. 05 Packing. Prepare lists of what to pack for the kids in collaboration with the parents, and make sure each child has their own bag with personal items like their phone, charger, water bottle, snacks, favorite toy, book, etc. It’s best to keep passports with you. 06 Accommodation. Renting an apartment rather than booking fancy hotel rooms works best with children. It allows for more freedom and leeway, as for the opportunity to prepare meals. Living together in a home setting creates a
sense of togetherness that adds priceless value to the experience. 07 Delegating responsibilities. Giving the kids responsibilities like navigating the confidence and makes them feel like active partners in the experience. 08 Documenting your trip. The kids will probably post pics on social media but creating a special travel journal in the form of a notebook where each of you writes their thoughts and memories every evening is a great way of documenting the trip and preserving the uniqueness of the experience. map on your phone or taking pictures increases their self

In a reality where only 1% of philanthropic funding is dedicated to advancing women, the Nitzan Foundation - an initiative of the World Zionist Organization established in the aftermath of October 7 - is working to reduce gender inequality, combat violence against women, and strengthen social resilience in Israel. We sat down with the foundation’s founders, Ayelet Razin Bet Or and Dror Morag, to discuss the positive changes already taking place on the ground and their vision for long-term social impact / By Yoel Tzafrir Social justice for women is an engine for social change
Women within the Department for Social Equality under the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had instigated the conference. “The WZO had been planning to send a delegation of Israeli female leaders to the US even before the events of October 7, but after the massacre, we decided to organize the conference at the UN”, explains Razin Bet Or. After the conference, Dror Morag, Vice Chairman of the WZO and Head of the Department for Social Engagement and Tikun Olam, contacted Razin Bet Or with the idea to dedicate a philanthropic fund to address the plight of women in Israel. “The UN conference was a decisive trigger for me,” recalls Morag. “I realized an executive arm was in need to translate the solidarity of the Jewish world into direct action on the ground”. And so, the Nitzan Foundation was born, with Morag serving as chairman and Razin Bet Or as director. Creating change on the ground “The successive crises of recent years - from the pandemic to the war - have disproportionately affected women,” says Razin Bet

Two months after the October 7 attacks, an emergency conference was held at the UN headquarters in New York, entitled “Hear Our Voices”. The event revealed to the world the shocking gender crimes committed by the Hamas. Key influential figures, including Sheryl Sandberg and actresses Debra Messing and Julianne Margulies, appeared on stage, alongside a
recorded speech by Hillary Clinton. The event generated widespread media coverage and instigated an international outreach campaign designed not only to reveal the truth, but also to mobilize support for the survivors. Or. “We are seeing increases in economic insecurity, burnout in care professions, and heightened vulnerability to violence. Investing in women is not only a matter of justice; it is a strategic investment in society as a whole”. “I find it especially meaningful that the Nitzan Foundation was initiated by a man,” she adds. “At its core, the foundation is built on the understanding that advancing women’s equality is a shared societal responsibility. Even today, only 1% of philanthropic funding is dedicated to this field, and we are determined to help change that reality”. Another key component of the foundation’s model is its ability to build strategic partnerships with the private sector. “HoneyBook was among the first companies to join, with employees donating vacation days that were matched by the company itself. EL AL also became a partner in a move that demonstrates a new model of

What are the foundation’s goals for the future? Morag: “All the funds we raise are directed toward the initiatives themselves, while the WZO covers operational costs. This ensures that every donation reaches its full destination. Our next goal is to raise two million shekels through the upcoming call for proposals, while continuing to closely monitor the implementation and long-term impact of the initiatives we support. We want every project to become a scalable engine for social change”. Razin Bet Or: “Our main goal is to significantly expand the scope of resource mobilization and strategic partnerships. We want the relationship with donors and companies to go far beyond financial support. Our vision is to build a community of true partners and ambassadors - people and organizations that take an active role in creating meaningful, measurable, and sustainable social change”. responsible corporate engagement. More and more companies understand the social and economic value of investing in women’s economic independence, leadership, and rehabilitation”. A deep strategic partnership Morag has been active within the World Zionist Organization for nearly a decade and was elected Vice Chairman at the last Zionist Congress. Much of his work focuses on supporting disadvantaged populations and strengthening social cohesion. Razin Bet Or has spent years leading systemic change through legislation, public policy, designated budgets, and international advocacy in the fields of gender equality and violence against women. The foundation’s first major step after its initial fundraising phase was to launch an open call for proposals. Out of hundreds of submissions, seven initiatives were selected, all focused on women’s empowerment, vocational rehabilitation, and support for survivors of gender-based violence.

Textile products with spring-inspired designs | Eden Reuveny
Eden Reuveny grew up in a home with both French and English roots, and with a great appreciation for craftsmanship and artisanal excellence. After four years of traveling the world, including a whole year in India where she discovered the extraordinary world of textile design and traditional fabric printing techniques, she founded her own textile brand, Rangoli Home Design. The inspiration for her romantic-nostalgic designs comes from her childhood and European roots as well as from nature. Her textiles are made by local artisans in India, using a traditional block-print technique, by which each pattern is carved into wood and hand-printed onto the fabric. Among the items she sells, there are tablecloths, quilts, bed linen, and more, all produced in small quantities, with extreme attention to detail and respect for craftsmanship. rangoli.co.il, @rangoli.home.design

Colorful flower holders| Adi Kafri Adi Kafri is an independent product designer who graduated from the Holon Institute of Technology’s Industrial Design Department, where she now teaches. In her studio in Kibbutz Nahalal she designs and develops her own products as well as those of other brands. To make her “Blossom” flower holder for Ototo, Kafri conducted extensive research into the world of flower arranging. While traditional Japanese flower holders are made of metal and require a separate water container in addition to the one for the flowers themselves, “Blossom” was made via a process of plastic injection molding which means it needs only one container. Each package comes with two different-sized and colored holders – a green one (diameter: 9.3cm, height: 2.5 cm), and a pink one (diameter: 7cm, height: 6cm). Available for purchase via Kafri’s Instagram page. @kafriadi

Sculpted paper sculptures Merav Peleg Artist and designer Merav Peleg blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics. In her Tel Aviv studio, she creates paper designs using a variety of techniques, giving this one-dimensional material depth, movement, and sculptural presence. Peleg’s designs are a personal interpretation of the botanical world, one that invites joy and color into any space. They are made using white paper which is then painted onto with watercolors, creating subtle color transitions and surprising contrasts. Once the paper takes on its distinct color design, the process of building the flower then begins: it involves cutting, creasing, and assembling the petals, layer by layer, until a full, deep shape is created. Peleg’s creations are rich in texture, light, and color, and are designed to bring vitality, tenderness, and presence into the room - beautiful both individually as a single flower, or as part of a dazzling bouquet cluster. @merav_peleg

Jerusalem-based artist Hodaya Ben Eliahu graduated from the Bezalel Glass and Ceramics Design Department. She is passionate about nature and has built an entire world of insects and plants that at first glance appear completely real, but are all made of glass, the material she fell in love with as a student. Each creation is the result of a deep love and appreciation for nature and the magic that is to be found in the smallest details. Ben Eliahu works with soft glass and a burner, and also posts videos on Instagram about her fascinating creative process. Her creations are beautiful artefacts that bring the joy of nature into any space. hodaya-glass.com @hodaya_ben_eliahu
