Participation in costs of using a telephone: Partners, parents and children both of whose parents are missing or were abducted will receive an annual reimbursement of 293 NIS (as of January 2023) for participation in the costs of using a telephone. The reimbursement is paid automatically once a year in January. For further details, scan the code > Payment in lieu of salary for captives: On February 4, 2024, the government adopted Resolution 1379 proposed by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Labor awarding captives payment in lieu of salary, following which an agreement was signed between the NII and the Treasury in accordance with Section 9 of the National Insurance Institute Law. On July 28, 2024, the Special Remuneration in lieu of Salary for Captives and Missing Persons Law was approved until October 2026, with an option for 12-month extensions upon an order issued by the Minister of Labor. The remuneration is calculated according to the following criteria: For salaried employees: the average of the captive's reported salaries during the three months prior to the abduction. For self-employed captives: according to NII advance payments for 2022 or for 2023, the higher of the two. Captives receiving a pension or not working: the payment will not be less than 7,300 NIS (or less than 9,500 NIS for a parent) and will not exceed 50,000 NIS. Captives without income during the relevant period will also receive a payment. Soldiers and Foreigners: will also be eligible to the basic payment.
