Performing Arts De Tango y Sombras – Marcos Ayala | Across Israel De Tango y Sombras, a show by dancer and choreographer Marcos Ayala - one of the most important figures in the world of tango - is considered one of the most powerful and exciting tango performances ever seen on stage. Immersive and full of intense drama, the show combines virtuosity, a riveting storyline, dramatic lighting, and powerful music. De Tango y Sombras is Ayala’s bold new stage adaptation of his earlier work, Tango in the Shadows, which depicted a poetic journey between darkness and light inspired by the Greek myth of Hades and Persephone, in which strong characters, inner worlds, and emotional struggles are intertwined. A searing dance piece that speaks to the Israeli reality of 2025 in which an ending has arrived, but the beginning of a new reality is only just starting to take shape, still not yet fully visible. The performance focuses on the notion of endings, and the beginnings that arise from them. Sof Sof explores the duality between endings being as much an opportunity for looking back, than an opening for continuation and the formation of a new beginning, walking the line between the invisible and the inevitable, asking us to slow down, feel, and allow something new to emerge. Three days, three stages and countless exciting performances - under the open sky. This year’s lineup is as eclectic and rich as ever, with original productions, album launches, and one-off collaborations between big names and newcomers. Program highlights include Grammy-award winner Dan Pugach and his Big Band, Eviatar Banai in a special show with jazz pianist Omri Mor, the Eli Degibri Big Band, and a huge closing show with Israeli rap artist Tuna. Late night shows, as well as the festival’s traditional jam sessions, will take place every night at the Isrotel Agamim Hotel’s Jasper bar, Isrotel being the festival’s official tourism partner, offering special accommodation packages that include festival passes and tickets.
