From the slopes of Mount Hermon, through green fields and orchards, crystal-blue natural springs, and a myriad breathtaking observation decks, the Northern Golan Heights offer a unique combination of gorgeous landscapes and fascinating history. In the fall, the Golan fields are dotted with beautiful hollyhock blossoms, and the coming winter brings with it the hope of snowfall. We headed north for a 24-hour whirlwind of fun and exploration, only to return with a full list of recommendations for what to see and do in this oh-so-very magical part of the country. Ein Keshatot A national heritage site The winding road that leads to the Ein Keshatot national heritage site (also known as Umm el-Qanatir) gives no indication of the beauty that awaits – it is only once you find yourself on the visitors’ center observation deck that you realize how breathtakingly beautiful the surrounding landscape is. Ein Keshatot is the site of an ancient Jewish village from the times of the Mishnah. The remains of a vast synagogue, located above Samach Stream, the Sea of Galilee and the Galilee Mountains were uncovered years ago, leading to the synagogue’s full reconstruction. It was recognized
