The Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs
The Ministry of Welfare
Dear families, We wish to embrace you and strengthen your spirit during this difficult time as you wait with deep concern for the return of your loved ones from Hamas captivity. At the same time, we also ask to support and strengthen the returnees, mourners, and the wounded in an attempt to help them with their rehabilitation process. The Ministry of Welfare employees await the return of the captives, stand behind you and are prepared to provide any assistance and support you need. People generally meet the Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs at times of crisis. During the past six months, many of you have encountered welfare personnel after experiencing the most severe crisis imaginable — a crisis that involves loss, displacement, uncertainty, and profound emotional upheaval. Dear families, you have experienced all of this in such a short period. Starting from October 7, social workers from local authorities' welfare services have been present at every significant point: The Family Center in Lahav, the Families Forum, support centers, and Nova community sites. Most of you have already the welfare workers in person, and they will continue to accompany you in the future. The Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs is responsible for providing assistance to returnees and their families on several levels: from the individual level, via family and community spheres, to the national level. Social workers from your local authorities have been assigned to each family, serving as the link between you and the government. Their role is to convey any needs arising to the Ministry in order to formulate an appropriate response.
