■ A one-time grant of 50,000 NIS for initial rehabilitation expenses. ■ A returnee is entitled to appear before a medical committee. A disability level of at least 50% will be awarded for emotional disability; for physical disability, the awarded level will be added to the emotional disability level. ■ Medical costs for treatments not covered by the state healthcare basket for 36 months from the date of recognition as a released captive (excluding cosmetic treatments). ■ Returnees who require medical treatment can submit a request for a medical treatment payment (MTP). An MTP will be paid after deducting the sum of the regular monthly pension (e.g., a returnee entitled to an MTP of 7,156 NIS who receives a pension of 2,812 NIS will be entitled to a maximum MTP of 4,344 NIS). The level of the MTP depends on age and family composition and fluctuates between 3,590 NIS and 9,285 NIS. ■ A claim for a child's disability benefit can be submitted in cases of child captives. The claim will be transferred to a committee that will meet without the returnee's presence and will determine a temporary disability level that grants a temporary benefit of 3,295 NIS per month. ■ Returnees over retirement age may submit a claim for long-term care benefits. ■ Grants paid as part of monthly benefits: • Annual grant for purchasing home supplies/appliances
• Annual grant for home heating • Annual grant for home cooling • Subsidy for telephone costs • Annual convalescence payment • Income tax grant
