J. Banking and Credit Card Benefits These benefits are given by the banks and credit card companies and so requests for the benefits should be directed to them or to the family counsellor who can assist via the Administration's financial desk. Banks ■ Captives or missing persons, or first-degree family members of captives or missing persons (hereinafter: "the eligible population" or "the eligible") have been recognized as eligible for a deferral of up to three months in their mortgage payments without fees or added interest due to the deferral, from October 2023. This temporary order was extended until June 30, 2024. Some of the banks grant additional mortgage payment benefits - it is recommended to check with your bank. Deferral of mortgage payments: Deferral of payments on other loans (not mortgages) taken from the bank or credit card company: ■ The eligible population may defer repayments of loans taken from the banks or credit card companies for a period of three months, without fees. ■ Repayments of household loans will be possible for accumulated loans of up to 100,000 NIS. ■ The borrowers will not be charged interest for the period of deferral. In addition, they may ask the bank or credit card company to consider a further extension.
