11 Elementary School Bani Fadhl, Nablus - ( / )مدرسة مجدل بني فاضل الأساسية المختلطة Boys’ Elementary School Beit Awwa, Hebron - ( مدرسة ذكور بيت عوا الأساسية ) On 16/11/2023 46 and 10/12/2023, 47 two videos were shared, each showing students from different schools reciting the qasida “Asmi ‘Palestine’.” This qasida depicts an event where Palestinians throw stones at the “Israeli occupation,” and the Israeli forces respond by throwing gas grenades and stones. At the end of the recitation, the initials of the word “Palestine” and the message “that it is only ours, will remain and return to us” are shown. The school staff encourages students to send videos of the recitations to the school. Here is the translation of the qasida. “My name is Palestine, made of clay, but my stones are chalk. I won’t tell you my story; my story is history. I am Palestine, the war, the weapons, the peace, and the stones. I come from a painful past and represent evil. I am Palestine, the free and barren one. We throw stones at them, and they fear their wind. They throw tear gas at us but forget that our tears fall only out of pride.
Video Transcript (starting at 00:25): 44 Palestinian: “You’re Jewish, right? You also look Jewish. What brings you to Al-Aqsa Mosque?” Soldier: “What do you mean?” Palestinian: “I mean, you better leave here. It’s better for both of us.” Soldier: “Well, you should leave before I shoot you in the head” (points gun at her). Palestinian: “Son of a Jew, look! A missile from Gaza! A missile from Gaza!” (points to the sky). (The soldier looks up, and meanwhile, the Palestinian picks up a stone, throws it at the soldier, and kills him). Palestinian: “Never mind, it’s okay to lie to enemies. Goodbye!” It should be noted that the school’s Facebook page contains several inciting materials. As part of its activities, students sent videos of themselves performing inciting plays, singing, and reciting “qasidas” (poems), such as the qasidah “Asmi ‘Palestine’” (My Name is Palestine). 45
