Section 6 of the Basic Law

Israel – The Nation State of the Jewish People stipulates that: A. The State shall strive to secure the welfare of members of the Jewish People and of its citizens, who are in distress and in captivity, due to their Jewishness or due to their citizenship. B. The State shall act in the Diaspora to strengthen the affinity between the State and members of the Jewish People. C. The State shall act to preserve the cultural, historical, and religious heritage of the Jewish People among the Jews of the Diaspora.

The Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism

VISION A Jewish People united by common fate and destiny, the center of which is the State of Israel which has a strong international standing, and the Diaspora of which is secure, flourishing, and connected to Jewish heritage and to Israel. Overarching Objective – Diaspora The ministry will strive to strengthen Jewish identity and the connection to Israel in the Diaspora and to reinforce the bond between Israel and world Jewry. Overarching Objective – Combating Antisemitism The ministry will combat all causes and manifestations of antisemitism and will bolster the resilience of the Jewish communities in the Diaspora while strengthening the State of Israel’s international standing as the nation state of the Jewish People.

Development and Regulation of Bedouin Settlements

VISION The Bedouin society in the Negev will be integrated into Israeli society, flourish, and benefit from formalized sustainable settlement, based on local authorities and stable civil society organizations. Overarching Objective - The Authority for Development and Settlement of the Bedouin in the Negev The authority will constitute a focus of professional knowledge and will have the necessary tools and powers to manage the task of formalizing settlement from the planning stage until its implementation in practice, with the aim of changing the map of the Negev. Overarching Objective – The Senior Division for the Socio-Economic Development of the Bedouin Society in the Negev The Division will strive to strengthen the local authorities and civil society organizations in the Bedouin society in the Negev and to empower them as independent organizations that provide municipal and social services on a level equal to that of their counterparts in Jewish society.
