Editor’s Letter
Each month for the past two years my letter to you here ended with a prayer for the return of all of our hostages. Now, after the immense collective relief at seeing those who survived come home, as well as some of the bodies of those who did not, I wish to begin it by expressing hope for the return of the remaining bodies, and a prayer for the safe return of our heroic soldiers still on the frontlines. It feels as though we can now finally take a deep breath and perhaps let go a little of the guilt that has accompanied us as we continued living our lives while our compatriots were in captivity. This month, opportunities for fun family outings abound, as November has been declared “Israel Tourism Month” by the Ministry of Tourism with the aim to encourage domestic tourism. Hundreds of businesses across the country - hotels, museums, culture centers, and more - will be offering major discounts and advantages (more information on p.6 and online at israeltourismmonth.co.il). Throughout these past two years, we’ve given a platform to businesses in the south and the north to help them recover, urging our readers to explore
these wonderful parts of the country. This month we made our way to the northern Golan Heights, a spectacularly beautiful region with gorgeous landscapes and a fascinating history - a fantastic destination any time of year. We spent 24 hours exploring its lesser-known corners and came back with a host of recommendations for you to enjoy. This month we’re also bringing you the lowdown on the coffee cart trend that has recently taken over Israel, with a list of our top spots, north to south, where you can sip on perfect espresso while admiring breathtaking views. And as always, our magazine is full of ideas and recommendations for what to see and do this month, with an overview of some of the most anticipated cultural events, tourism news and updates, as well as a taste of some of the most notable new restaurants that aren’t located in the big cities, our selection of the latest tech novelties, and more. Wishing you a pleasant read and a peaceful flight, Nava Marton @nava.marton I nava@atmospheres.co.il
