June has arrived, and with it the holiday of Shavuot, marking the start of bathing season in Israel. It’s the perfect time to explore the country’s myriad natural springs and enjoy a picnic by the water, in sync with International Picnic Day which occurs on June 18 th . In this issue you’ll find an overview of some of our favorite spots, north to south, each one an oasis of refreshing natural spring waters and glorious landscapes. And after this refreshing dip, why not head over to the picturesque town of Pardes Hanna-Karkur to explore its vibrant hub of artists’ studios and vintage shops known as the Artists’ Stables. This fascinating microcosm of life and creativity is chockfull of amazing art, artisanry, and culinary experiences. What used to be a cluster of horse stables has been transformed into little vintage clothes shops, studios populated by artists of every kind: ceramicists, jewelry-makers, fashion designers, etc. Spending a day here offers the chance to discover so much original local art, as well as the opportunity to take some home with you. Also this month: recommendations on what to see and do on the cultural scene, a weekend getaway in Kibbutz Degania on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, a taste of a few new Italian eateries, a look at some of the most exciting tech gadgets hitting markets this season, and more. And of course, as ever, we continue to pray and hope for the release of those still held hostage in Gaza.
