Flying the Israeli Delegation to the Eurovision At the beginning of May, EL AL – the official carrier of the Israeli delegation to the Eurovision– flew Israel's Eurovision representative Yuval Rafael and the rest of the delegation to Switzerland. Before departure, a heartfelt reception was held for the Israeli delegation, representatives from the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, and EL AL staff at the King David Lounge in Ben Gurion Airport. EL AL CEO Dina Ben Tal Ganancia and Israeli Broadcasting Corporation TV Vice President Tal Freifeld wished Yuval Rafael great success in representing Israel at Eurovision. Shortly before the flight to Switzerland, a special decal was unveiled on the aircraft's fuselage, reading: "Israel is behind you, good luck Yuval." Upon their return from Switzerland, the Israeli delegation landed at Ben Gurion Airport and was greeted with applause, following Yuval Raphael’s impressive achievement – winning second place in the Eurovision Song Contest. At the welcome ceremony held after the landing, Yuval Raphael and the delegation members were received with a standing ovation, flower bouquets, and much affection. As part of the collaboration between the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation and EL AL, a variety of original content from the corporation will be updated in EL AL's in-flight entertainment systems over the coming months, including 'The Jews Are Coming,' 'Checkout,' 'Tehran,' 'Stories from the Armchair,' and more. "'Achinu Kol Beit Yisrael": Another Dreamliner of EL AL arrives to Israel
The 17 th aircraft in EL AL's Dreamliner fleet has joined the company's wide-body aircraft fleet. The Boeing 787 aircraft bears the name "'Achinu Kol Beit Yisrael" and is designed with EL AL's new livery, which is already present on some of the company's 737 aircraft. The colors of the Israeli flag have been refreshed on the tail of the aircraft, and EL AL's logo has been updated as part of the company's vision to strengthen the connection with the Israeli public and proudly represent Israel worldwide. Unlike EL AL's 45 passenger aircraft, all named after cities and towns in Israel, this time the company chose to name the aircraft "'Achinu Kol Beit Yisrael", which translates as "Our brothers, the entire house of Israel" and is a quote from Jewish liturgy expressing a prayer for the return of all hostages to Israel, in the spirit of the times and as a touching tribute symbolizing unity and hope for the return of the hostages to Israel. The aircraft includes 293 seats divided into two service classes: 30 seats in business class and 263 seats in economy class. In business class, the seats are lie-flat beds that open to approximately 180 degrees, with a personal 16-inch screen. In the front of the economy class, there are 34 preferred seats with an enhanced pitch of 38 inches. This aircraft offers a personal entertainment system with various content for your enjoyment.
