EL AL Keeps Israel Connected to the World
EL AL and Delta Air Lines sign a codeshare agreement that includes advantages for frequent flyers
Last month, EL AL and Delta Air Lines launched a long-term codeshare agreement that allows passengers flying between Israel and the Americas to benefit from connecting flights. The agreement includes mutual advantages for both companies’ respective frequent flyers club members, such as accumulating and using up Delta Skymiles or EL AL frequent flyer club points. Delta passengers will be able to fly from North America to Tel Aviv on direct EL AL flights from JFK New York, Newark, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale. The EL AL code (LY) will be added to Delta flights from Tel Aviv to the US, as well as to about 280 connecting flights via Delta’s main US airports. These include JFK New York, Atlanta, Boston, and Los
Angeles and cover a wide range of destinations such as Washington, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Seattle, Dallas, and Toronto.
This codeshare agreement will enhance the value proposition for EL AL customers flying from Israel to various destinations across the Americas. The partnership with Delta Air Lines, coupled with the U.S. Visa Waiver Program, gives way to many diverse and convenient options for Israeli passengers. This codeshare agreement will also enable Delta Air Lines to offer passengers even more flight options between Israel and North America. Since January 15 th , the two companies have begun offering their respective frequent flyers club members mutual benefits such as preferred seating, priority check-in, extra checked baggage, and access to the airport lounge when available.
