EL AL NEWS Latet’s Winter Operation The winter months can cause a significant economic burden to those living below the poverty line in Israel, including children and the elderly. It brings with it longer stays at home, and the need for heating, coats, blankets, etc.

Latet is the main humanitarian aid organization in Israel working to reduce poverty. In the winter, it deploys extensive efforts to bring aid to the elderly, to Holocaust survivors and those living in poverty, notably distributing radiators and food. As Pnina Farhi, a 90-year-old Holocaust survivor who has worked all her life, and now requires assistance from Latet explains: “winter is sad, there’s no one around, and you feel unwell.
