HaShmura 215 | Shakshuka in the countryside At the entrance to Pura nature reserve, you’ll find Benny Gal’s bistro café “HaShmura 215”. Gal fell in love with Pura’s eucalyptus groves and green expands, and decided it was the perfect place to turn his dream of opening a food truck into a reality. Drivers passing by can relax in the shade of the trees, feast on some delicious shakshuka, a fluffy omelet, crispy schnitzel, baguette sandwich, etc. For dessert, the homemade muesli malabi is highly recommended – it is completely vegan – and the post-meal coffee is an absolute must: Gal serves it in a traditional Turkish Finjan pot. In the wintertime, when vacationers abound, the café is open on Fridays as well. Kiryat Gat route – Beit Kama HaShmura 215 I Photo: Benny Gal Lucky Chicken I Photo: Gil Aviram
The Lucky Chicken | Crispy chicken sandwiches and cookie dough soufflé
Juicy fried chicken stuffed inside fluffy brioche is the most wonderful thing to have placed in your hands after hours of driving through highways and junctions. Chef Shahar Bohadana is the founder and owner of the Lucky Chicken. It is located in Bitan Aharon, a moshav in central Israel, where it is lovely and green. Inspired by his frequent trips to London, his chicken sandwiches are perfectly seasoned and slathered in cheddar cheese. Though chicken sandwiches are the star of the show here, other options do exist, such as chicken popcorn, chicken nuggets, chicken wings, chicken sausages, chicken steak, chips, and salads, and for dessert, cookie dough soufflé - all served in a young and relaxed atmosphere with bouncy music playing in the background.
