What’s On Our Radar This Month

Culture | The Israel Festival Jerusalem The 61 st edition of the Israel Festival will be held this month in Jerusalem just before the start of the High Holidays. Contemporary dance performances, live music, a historical satire on climate change, and many more events will be staged in the Jerusalem Theatre and locations nearby. The festival’s main attraction this year is its opening show, “Sun & Sea”. This international operatic production about climate change, Golden Lion winner at the 2019 Venice Biennale, opens with a scene of swimsuited carefree holidaymakers by the sea, that break into song to warn of coming ecological disasters. The audience beholds the scene from balconies suspended 4m above the stage, which adds to the uniqueness of this opera experience. Performances are free of charge and open to all.
