Profile

What inspired you to join EL AL Airlines? “I followed in my brother’s footsteps. He’s been working at the EL AL Training Division for 30 years now. When he started, he immediately regarded EL AL as a great place to work at and wanted me to have the same opportunity”. What does your job entail? “As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, my job consists in detecting and fixing malfunctions, as well as taking care of aircraft maintenance. We make sure the aircraft is safe to fly and perform periodic maintenance operations. As department manager, I have around forty employees working under my supervision at each shift”. What do you most like about your job? “Helping technicians find the best way to repair malfunctions”. Which part of your job do you find most challenging? “The sheer

number of planes we are tasked with taking care of each day means malfunctions and issues are always popping up. The biggest challenge is getting all the repairs done in the least amount of time possible, to avoid any delays. I always reassure passengers who are afraid of flying that EL AL flights only ever take off if they are 100% safe”. What do you always have in your suitcase? “A passport and my tools. I frequently need to fly for work in order to tend to aircraft situated in various destinations”. Which EL AL destination do you most love to fly to and why? “The United States because I have family there ”. What do you do in your spare time? “I enjoy working out and going to the beach”. What would you be doing now had you not joined EL AL? “Any profession that involves working with people”.

Favorite destination in the world:

“I don’t have a specific favorite, but if I had to pick just one, I would say the Patagonian ice fields in Argentina, where there are 60m-high ice caps that shift and break into pieces that crash into the ocean – it is spectacular to behold”.
