01 Lighting up Jaffa Every year, the streets of Jaffa light up in celebration of Hanukkah and Christmas, and both a huge Hanukkah menorah and giant Christmas tree are placed at the center of the city’s iconic Clock Tower square. Many events and tours take place during the holiday season as part of the municipality’s “Lighting Up Jaffa” initiative, and a Christmas market opens at the flea market, selling decorations, gifts, Christmas treats, and more. Also, guided tours of Jaffa’s beautiful churches take place daily, and midnight mass at St. Peter’s Church on Christmas Eve
