Music | The International Oud Festival Jerusalem
Jerusalem’s International Oud Festival is celebrating its 25 th edition this year with a rich program that includes original productions, new album launches, and recitals given by major international artists. The festival is rooted in the many cultures and sounds of the Levant, and its spirit this year, as war rages, is that of hope - hope for the future, for coexistence, for music to be shared and enjoyed by all peoples, a hope that stems in the belief that music has the power to heal the heart of each individual, and of society as a whole. Opening the festival is Israeli band Hadag Nahash with a new and original musical reinterpretation of the Book of Psalms, mixing hip-hop, electro, punk, and Mediterranean sounds. The festival shows will take place across the city, at the Confederation House, the Jerusalem Theatre, the National Library, the Mazkeka, and the Yellow Submarine jazz club. November 21-30, confederationhouse.org
