Ministry of Education
Dear families, During this time of contending with the worry, pain, uncertainty, and deep longing for a loved one abducted by Hamas on the black sabbath of October 7, and who are still in captivity, I wish to express our solidarity with your feelings and to extend my love to you all. We were all deeply moved with the return of the captives, and we will continue to do everything in our power to realize our never-ending commitment until all the hostages return home swiftly and safely. With the outbreak of the war, the Ministry of Education opened a dedicated crisis room to support communities and students affected in various ways. The Ministry of Education has a permanent representative on The Kidnapped and Missing Persons, Returnees, and their Families Administration who responds to inquiries and the needs of the families of the captives and returnees, operating in full cooperation with the relevant governmental bodies. Responses are provided by headquarters departments, district offices, and educational and therapy teams at educational institutions. The support framework is designed to facilitate a gradual return to a functional continuity that is personally tailored to meet the needs and abilities of all student returnees and of students whose loved ones are still in captivity. We, at the Ministry of Education, are committed to do everything possible to assist students and families cope with this challenging period, as much as possible.
