G. Judicial Assistance, Guidance and Legal Advice Ministry of Justice ■ Legal advice is given to families of the captives and missing persons to help them exercise their rights and address the legal needs related to the abduction or disappearance, including receiving benefits, processing insurance claims, taking care of financial matters and debts, work-related issues, family law and personal status, NII, housing issues, guardianship, minors' rights and other issues. ■ A lawyer will be appointed to accompany your family, and to advise and represent you when needed. ■ Free assistance is funded and supervised by the Legal Aid Unit in the Ministry of Justice, and is given to first-degree family members (parents, children, siblings and partners) contending with different legal difficulties and needs resulting from the abduction. Important: If you have not yet been appointed a lawyer from the Legal Aid Unit for receiving free legal advice, please contact your family counsellor at the Administration or fill in the Legal Aid Unit's online form and update your family counsellor at the Administration.
