Exhibition Sam Halaby – “In the depths of the forest” | The Janco-Dada Museum, Ein Hod

f ir Bolotin

Internationally-renowned Druze artist Sam Halaby is presenting his new solo show this fall at the Janco-Dada Museum in Ein Harod, with paintings made using various materials including olive, pine and vine branches that create a dialogue between intense color splashes and broad brush strokes, and leaves and branches, producing expressive and poetic works that flow between nature and artifice, the indoors and the outdoors. The exhibition’s central piece is an incredible recreation of a forest which visitors are invited to explore. For Halaby, placing the forest at the center of the exhibition represents a disruptive Dadaist act, with the forest becoming not a landscape to be observed from a distance, but a state of mind that one must dare to enter and experience. Dance Erga – The Kamea Dance Company | Across Israel Erga is a deep and intense creation by choreographer Tamir Ginz. It premiered three days before the War with Iran broke out, and only now is the company taking it on tour across the country. Erga is about love and about the longing for intimacy in a world dominated by uncertainty. 16 dancers move between physical strength and emotional rawness in a piece that seeks to look at love from precisely the perspective of its inherent fragility. The original music score, by musician Gil Nemet, echoes the monumental sounds of Mozart’s Requiem. The Kamea Dance company was founded by Tamir Ginz in Beer Sheva in 2002 and is composed of 28 Israeli and

international dancers. Until December 22nd, kameadance.com
