Michelin-starred restaurants aren’t only to be found in the center of Paris, London or New York. There are Michelin-starred establishments in the smallest towns and most remote rural areas offering extremely high quality at more affordable prices. 01 Go at lunchtime. Lots of restaurants offer more budget-friendly menus at lunchtime. The kitchen and chef stay the same, but the price tag does not. 02 Look for the Bib Gourmand label. Not all Michelin recommendations are starred. There are those that are designated by a “Bib Gourmand” label, with high-quality food at more affordable prices, and there are many others that may not have any official label but are highly recommended by
Michelin critics. To find them, go to the Michelin website and use “Bib Gourmand” or “Featured Restaurants” as search engine filters. 03 Start with one star. Three stars are the very top of the Michelin rating mountain, but even one star indicates a very high level of excellence and offers a more accessible way to experience Michelin-starred establishments. 04 Go for the fixed menu.
