of the soldiers on the battlefield, the journey of repair and rehabilitation of the wounded, of the hostages and their families, the long campaign for their release, etc. Each picture tells a different and powerful story of memory, pain, and bereavement alongside heroism, resilience, and hope. Koren’s work has resulted in two important photography books: “The October 7 War Book” - focusing on the trauma, destruction, and war. “The Return from October” - focusing on the hostages, their return, recovery, and hopes for the future. October 13th, North London, 7pm: exhibition opening 7:30pm-9pm: lecture and Q&A Tickets at: tinyurl.com/zivkorenuk ˆ In Mazkeret Batya, where we live, there is also a kindergarten named after her, and from this came the idea to write a children’s book inspired by Karin’s incredible spirit called “I Can Do Anything”, which aims to inspire kids to believe in themselves and dare to make their dreams come true, like Karin did. I invite you all to come to Karin’s memorial garden, have a coffee, enjoy the view, and get to know Karin - maybe even pick up her book for your children. I hope that in doing so you will be able to connect with our beloved Karin, the special girl we miss so much. Give Karin a hug for us

Through the unique perspective of his camera lens, Koren has been documenting historical events and humanitarian crises in Israel and around the world for years, but nothing prepared him for the events of October 7, 2023. There was one thing he knew for sure – he had to be there, immediately. Koren took his camera, got on his motorbike, and was one of the first photographers who, under fire and under a heavy cloud of uncertainty, documented that terrible day. Since October 7, all of Koren’s work has been devoted to documenting the multifaceted
aftermath of the massacre, with his work serving as a unique, firsthand testimony from the kibbutzim, the towns, and the cities of the Gaza Envelope, of the sights and sounds
“The courage to dare and to dream” / Inbal Journo, mother of Karin Journo who was murdered at the Nova Festival
There are people whose presence, even after they pass away, continues to live on and reverberate, like with our Karin. Karin lived for almost 24 years. In her short life, she managed to experience a lot, and in her death, she left a legacy of laughter, love, and inspiration. Karin had just returned from her big trip, beginning her life at EL AL. On that cursed Saturday, she had gone out to celebrate at the Nova Festival – and never came back. Today, three years on, her father Doron and I carry her memory every second of every day, trying to learn how to go on living without our daughter. To commemorate Karin, we created a garden and a memorial in her memory in Moshav Taoz next to the “Ishlechem Café” - a lively place where
people come to from all over the country to eat, drink coffee, and enjoy the view. And there they also meet our Karin and her story.
