Before we dive into the contents of our High Holidays issue, it’s impossible not to mention the two superstars on our cover this month: Deni Avdija, the most successful Israeli NBA player ever, and Lior Raz, actor and creator of Fauda, the most successful Israeli tv show in the world. The two were chosen to be the co-presenters of the new EL AL safety videos that launched last month. The videos combine technological innovation with quality contents, adding another layer of comfort and fun to the EL AL passenger experience. The videos also feature Gal Gadot and Rotem Sela (on our cover last month). All four stars were chosen because of how emblematically they embody the EL AL values of excellence, global presence and Israeli pride, as well as their ability to appeal to all audiences, anywhere on the globe. We managed to catch up with Raz and Avdija, in between flights, to discuss all things global fame and their involvement in the project. See the full article on page 32. For those spending the holidays in Israel, we’ve prepared a special guide to the Negev Wine Route, following its recent

recognition as an official international wine region, which has brought about a great tourism reawakening across the region, with vintners, winemakers, and winery owners opening their doors to visitors, and hosting tastings of their finest wines. Another favorite destination of ours, especially during the holiday season, is Jerusalem, with its Selichot events and myriad holiday manifestations. A visit to the capital is a treat no matter the season, but it’s truly a delight this time of year. We headed over for a day trip and came back with a whole host of recommendations for what to do and where to eat, which you can find in our article on page 26. And as always, our magazine gives you the lowdown on the month’s main tourism news and cultural highlights, takes a look at new kosher restaurant openings, explores holiday gift ideas, and more.
