The Israeli House London is holding the 8th edition of its Hebrew Children’s Theatre Festival this month, with the biblical verse: “Love thy neighbor as yourself”, as its main theme this year. The festival is held in collaboration with the World Zionist Organization (WZO) and the Israeli Hashaa Theatre company. London’s Jewish and Israeli community is warmly invited to come and enjoy a wonderful selection of plays, support the festival, and strengthen Jewish identity and the community’s connection with the State of Israel. An Israeli delegation with Miriam Peretz at its head will be taking part in the festival’s opening gala, together with heads of associations and organizations, school principals, teachers, and more. Three decades after it first premiered, Rami Be’er’s iconic masterpiece is being brought back to the stage by the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company. Indeed, “Aide-Mémoire” seems more relevant than ever, as it deeply reflects on Israeli and global realities, while echoing both the personal and collective trauma left by the Holocaust on society and the individual. This new production invites audiences to experience a unique encounter with a timeless work that expresses not only the longing for brotherhood and peace among all people, but also the contribution of art to the healing processes of the individual and society, whoever and wherever they may be.
