Leket Israel – Rescuing food, strengthening society Leket Israel, the national food rescue organization, works daily to salvage fresh, nutritious food surpluses from farmers, IDF bases, institutional kitchens, and more. The collected food is distributed through approximately 346 partner nonprofits to 470,000 people in need across the country, including seniors and Holocaust survivors, single-parent families, and at-risk children and youth. Leket Israel’s food rescue activity provides much more than a meal: it reduces social gaps, strengthens the economy, and minimizes food waste in Israel. Each year, the organization rescues over 30,000 tons of fruits and vegetables and about 2 million hot meals, impressive figures that demonstrate its far reaching impact. Leket Israel is proud of its long standing partnership with EL AL, which includes support for diverse projects and employee volunteering. Thanks to this collaboration, the organization is able to expand its operations and reach even more families in need. For more info and to volunteer go to leket.org
