It’s wintertime in Israel, and though temperatures remain mild this time of year, there’s always the hope for some snow – snow that’ll paint the landscapes white and make them even more spectacular. But for now, the days alternate between heavy rain and warm winter sunshine, enticing us to head out and enjoy the outdoors. Winter breaks in Israel offer a quieter, more intimate experience that during the crowded summer months. This issue contains several recommendations for what to see and do this time of year, north to south - from soaking in hot springs, to picking strawberries, to exploring an exciting cultural hub in Tel Aviv, and going on a family vacation in the desert. There are also lots of interesting exhibitions to discover in Israeli museums across the country. We’ve selected some of the most notable, including Local Testimony
2025, the annual photojournalism exhibition where 82 fascinating works documenting the complex realities of life in Israel are on show. Another great Israeli winter destination is the city of Eilat, especially for those looking to escape the cold and the rain – it’s chockfull of fun things to do and intriguing culinary spots to discover. Our food section brings you a taste of some of the most exciting. And as always, we give you an overview of the month’s tourism highlights, a look at the most interesting events around the country, and more. This new year begins with one last deceased hostage - Ran Gvili - still remaining in Gaza. We continue to pray ceaselessly for the return of his body to his loved ones back home. Wishing you a pleasant read and a peaceful flight, Nava Marton @nava.marton I nava@atmospheres.co.il
