01 Where to get warm The hot springs of Hammat Tiberias In the 1920s, archaeological excavations uncovered the remains of the ancient city of Hammat, including 17 hot springs in which thermo-mineral water with exceptional healing properties flows

at a temperature of 60°C. Nowadays, the hot springs of Hammat are maintained by the Nature and Parks Authority, and a beautiful sprawling garden grows all around them. The water is channeled through three shallow wading pools, and it is an absolute delight to dip your feet in them, warm up, and relax your muscles, especially on rainy days or in the evening, in the moonlight. The

Hammat Tiberias National Park is also the site of spectacular mosaics, as well as of a wonderfully preserved 18th century Turkish bathhouse. The park also offers gorgeous panoramic views, a hiking trail that passes through the remains of the ancient city and baths, a foot reflexology trail, and picnic tables and changing rooms. parks.org.il
