After More Than a Decade: EL AL Returns to Eilat Last month, EL AL operated its inaugural ight on the Tel Aviv–Eilat route, marking the airline’s return to the southern city after more than a decade. Upon landing at Ramon Airport, a welcoming ceremony was held, attended by EL AL representatives, Ramon Airport management, and Eilat Mayor Eli Lankri. Transportation, as part of a broader collaboration aimed at increasing the frequency of ights between Eilat and central Israel. This initiative is another step in strengthening the accessibility and connectivity of the southern city with the rest of the country. Currently, EL AL operates two daily ights on the Tel Aviv–Eilat route - one in the morning and one in the evening - using Boeing 737 aircraft. Fares start at NIS 139 one-way for a LITE ticket, which includes a carry on and a personal item. Residents of Eilat and the Eilot region are eligible for a subsidized fare of NIS 99 one-way. Unistream’s StartUp Now entrepreneurial program o ers young people hands-on experience in establishing an innovative venture. This year, a group of 22 Jewish and Arab eighth-grade Ramle teens was supported by EL AL and the UJA Federation of New York, and was directly supervised by Hezi Furer, EL AL’s Information Technology Project Manager. The teens toured the EL AL o ces, met senior executives, and held a Go-No-Go feasibility panel, during which they chose their venture, Fly Bot, a digital assistant accessible throughout the ight experience and born of The Unistream Association and EL AL join forces to promote business and social entrepreneurship among youth
