Textile Design “Divine Comfort” – Designer: Aseel Assi
This project marries religious faith with contemporary textile design. “And if My servants ask you about Me, then I am near, and we are closer to Him than the umbilical cord” - in moments of brokenness and emptiness, designer Aseel Assi finds inner peace and strength in this verse from the Quran. Her project invites the viewer to enter a visual space where tradition, religion, and textile meet and offer a moment of contemplation and inspiration. Assi’s work explores the notions of identity, time, and memory through color, texture, and light. A project directed by Yuval Etzioni and Mati Harel. aseel.textile

Visual Communication “Magnified and Sanctified” – Designer: Mika Rotlevy
Industrial Design “Counter”, ergonomic kitchen tools – Designer: Roni Naor
Mika Rotlevy lost three friends in the last two years. In her project, she attempts to look at the notion of the glorification of the dead and how when someone we love dies, we tend to remember only the good, magnifying that person’s virtues, with memory distorting the past, which is now tainted by the tragedy that occurred. Her works represent this glorification process, how a deceased loved-one’s past actions, even the most mundane, suddenly get reframed as heroic deeds - notably via the use of boxes of light that evoke the effect of a halo. thereal_mikoy
As we know, the war has sadly left many soldiers with physical disabilities, including hand disabilities. Designer Roni Naor has created a series of kitchen tools geared to be used by someone with reduced grip capacity. This impressive project offers solutions to challenges people with permanent or temporary hand limitations face every day. Her cutting board for instance, is designed in such a way that it stays fixed to the kitchen surface, allowing for better grip on the cooking task itself. roni_naor
