After more than a decade: EL AL resumes flights to Eilat EL AL is reinstating its Tel Aviv–Eilat route this winter, following a request from Israel’s Ministry of Transport. This move reflects EL AL’s commitment to strengthening domestic aviation and supporting southern communities. The route will feature two daily flights—morning and evening— operating Sunday through Friday aboard EL AL’s Boeing 737 aircraft. As Israel’s national carrier, EL AL proudly flies the Israeli flag and views this initiative as part of its broader mission to enhance accessibility and promote regional development. Matmid frequent flyer members can now earn and redeem points on Eilat flights. One-way fares start at NIS 139 for a LITE ticket, which includes a carry-on and a personal item. Residents of Eilat and the Eilot region will enjoy a subsidized one-way fare of NIS 99 for a LITE ticket. Tickets are available via EL AL’s website and travel agents.
Flying the flag all the way to Los Angeles: EL AL named official airline of the Israeli Olympic Committee.
EL AL will be the official airline of the Olympic Committee of Israel, flying the national delegation to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games and the European Games in summer 2027. Olympic athletes in attendance included Raz Hershko, Artem Dolgopyat, Yam Wolczak, Anastasia Gorbenko, Shahar Tzuberi, and the women’s windsurfing team: Sharon Kantor, Tamar Steinberg, Daniella Peleg, and Maya Morris.
