October 7 caught the Kfar Giladi Hotel in the midst of a sweeping refurbishment project. The ensuing war forced it to remain closed for many months. Finally, it was able to reopen last March, and guests have been flocking over from all over the country ever since. The hotel is located in the northern part of Kibbutz Kfar Giladi, along the Naftali Mountain Ridge that looks out onto the impressive landscapes of the Upper Galilee, the Golan Heights, Mount Hermon, the Hula Valley, Metula, and on clear days, as far as the Lebanese border. Established in 1916, the kibbutz is home to numerous historical sites, including from the days of the Irgun and Ha Shomer militia groups, and Yosef Trumpeldor and his comrades.
