Sfarim Bahatzer : This bookshop was established 18 years ago by kibbutz members. Its shelves are lined with over 20,000 books (including second-hand ones) as well as over 3,000 records. Tel: 052-3939911 Guided Excursions There’s a wide range of guided tours and visits to choose form in the package deal. Most include explorations of sites crucial to the history of Israel and the first Zionist settlers, including an underground Haganah weapons cache you can descend to and see artifacts and weapons from those times. Other excursions include an evening lantern-lit tour of the kibbutz and places where heroic actions were carried out by the Jewish militia groups operating against the British Mandate, as well as a visit to the kibbutz cow sheds and to its petting farm where there are rabbits, goats, and other animals children can approach and feed. Nature reserves and gorgeous landscapes There’s a dazzling abundance of streams and natural springs in the Upper Galilee, of which the Hatzbani, Banias and Dan streams are the main ones. A

section of the landscape through which all three flow is under the stewardship of the Nature and Parks Authority which has created accessible and well-maintained nature reserves along the riverbanks. The Snir Reserve – the enchanting Snir stream flows through waterfalls, wading pools, gorgeous panoramic lookout spots, a birdwatching hideout, and a picnic zone. A lovely spot. The Banias Reserve – here, a trail leads you down to the reserve’s central point of interest: an 80m-long suspension bridge that allows direct access to the spectacular Banias Waterfall. The bridge “hangs” above the water along the stream and the narrow canyon that lies between the enormous basalt cliffs, trees, and dense vegetation all around. The Tel Dan Reserve – a heavenly natural spring nestled among thickets of vegetation and sky high trees. This reserve also includes a fascinating heritage site commemorating a famous battle that took place here, as well as archeological remains from 5,000 years ago and the times of the
