Sculpted beeswax candles Designers: Elinor Avni, Orit Razili, and Karen Oberzon Fashion entrepreneurs Karen Oberzon and Orit Razili cofounded their brand “arkhe”, with which they collaborate with designers and artists of various kinds. This time they teamed up with multidisciplinary designer Elinor Avni, co-owner of jewelry brand Noritamy. Together with Tamar Idelman, they are launching a project entitled “Melting objects designed to awaken your senses”, consisting of sculpted candles made of beeswax, shaped in the form of volcanoes and rocks, and infused with a scent created especially for the occasion. When the candle is lit, and even once it has been blown out, a special enveloping sensation takes over the space it was lit in. Each candle comes placed on a handmade brass tray that collects the melted wax as the candle burns. @arkhe_life, @noritamy noritamy.com

Tattooed leather vases Designer: Talia Luvaton

Industrial designer and leathercraft artist Talia Luvaton graduated from the Holon Institute of Technology in 2021. Founder of her own brand, she creates bags, trays, jewelry, and a myriad more beautifully items, always seeking to explore the notions of humanity, femininity, natural warmth, traditional knowledge, and technological innovation. At this year’s Freshpaint fair, Luvaton will be presenting a special series of tattooed leather vases made in collaboration with four local tattoo artists. The project is the result of extensive study and research on the concepts of materiality and shape,

and creates a deeply meaningful parallel between animal skin and human skin through the notion of indelibility, while also reinterpreting the art of vase crafting. Throughout history, jugs and vases have not only served functional purposes, but also been vehicles for visual messaging, and coupling tattoos with vase engraving builds a thrilling bridge between us and ancient civilizations, tradition and innovation. The tattoo artists taking part are Jenny Pokryvailo, Noa Margalit, Omri Goldzak, and Amit Kaplan. @talialuvaton talialuvaton.com
