Last Call to Assist Holocaust Survivors There are 127,000 Holocaust survivors in Israel. 25% live on a monthly pension of $1,100 only, leading to poverty. The Foundation for the Welfare of Holocaust Victims, an Israeli NGO established 30 years ago, addresses their needs to allow them to age with dignity. The “Last Call” campaign is a collaboration between the Foundation and EL AL Airlines. “Last call” is a common phrase in aviation. For Holocaust survivors, it is reality—a last plea for support to ensure they can live their final years with respect, whether through donations or volunteer work. One of our campaign participants is Mr. Yaakov Ha’elyon, a Holocaust survivor who was born in 1933 in Greece. He established a large family in Israel and was an outstanding worker at EL AL. Despite his medical issues, he’s optimistic.

Yaakov urges everyone to contribute and volunteer, reminding us that we can help create a respectful reality for Holocaust survivors. For donations or volunteer opportunities search: the Foundation for the Welfare of Holocaust Victims or scan the QR code.
