If there’s one place able to provide a bit of oh-so-precious escapism these days, and serve as the ideal winter holiday destination – it has to be the Negev Desert. Mitzpe Ramon is a town that sits on the edge of the famous Ramon Crater, overlooking breathtaking landscapes. Not only is it the perfect starting point to innumerable desert hikes, it is also a regional cultural and culinary hub, with numerous establishments having opened here these past years, including wineries, tour guide companies, wellness centers, and so much more. (See our article on p.16). Our interview this month is with Israeli master mentalist Lior Suchard. In anticipation of his upcoming show in New York, and in celebration of his birthday, we sat down with him to discuss

his passion for what he does, and the difficulties he encountered this past year. Also this month: a look at the best wellness resort in Israel, a taste of some of the most delicious bakeries in the country, an introduction to five fascinating female textile designers, and as always, an overview of the month’s main cultural highlights. With Christmas and Hanukkah upon us this month, let me take this opportunity for joy and celebration, to wish you all a luminous and happy new year, and of course, to reiterate our call for the release of the hostages, and for the safe return of our soldiers.
