Anemones of Hope |

Each year, after the rains and with the arrival of spring, fields of red anemones bloom around the communities in southern Israel near the Gaza border. However, on October 7 th , 2023, these peaceful fields were devastated by a murderous attack on innocent people, casting a shadow over the South before the rains—not with blooming anemones, but with profound loss. Amidst the sorrow, the blooming anemones offer a symbol of hope and renewal. The “Anemones Before the Rain” project, led by the entrepreneur Yaffa Solomon and her artists partners Varda Har-tsvi, Pnina Lachish, Shlomit Hepher and Dana Mishali Benishou, aims to honor the victims of that dark Saturday by distributing 100,000 red ceramics anemones across the country. Hundreds of volunteers nationwide participate in this initiative, creating red ceramics anemones. So far, thousands of anemones have been scattered in the communities near Gaza and in various cities throughout Israel. Last month, EL AL has proudly joined the “Anemones Before the Rain” project, creating a moving anemone exhibit in the King David Lounge at Ben Gurion Airport. Additionally, as part of the events commemorating the National Remembrance Day for The October 7 th Tragedy, anemone stickers were distributed to passengers and crew on all flights and on the ground, to honor the victims and to instill hope in each of our hearts. EL AL wishes for the immediate return of the hostages and prays for the safety and well-being of the IDF soldiers.

Flying with the Flag: EL AL Supports Local Businesses |

As part of our 'Fly the Flag' campaign, EL AL encourages the Israeli economy as part of its ongoing effort to support Israeli businesses affected by the 'War of Iron Swords' and to strengthen the local economy. Be'eri Printers, one of the largest printing houses in Israel located in Kibbutz Beeri, was affected by the war. However, its managers decided to reopen the printing house for operation immediately after October 7th, even while under fire. EL AL sees immense importance in supporting local businesses and encouraging their recovery and prosperity. As part of this, the company launched a joint initiative with "albume" from Be'eri Printers, where EL AL passengers who flew during the months of July to October enjoyed a discount coupon for purchasing a digital album printed at Be'eri Printers. EL AL is dedicated to helping local businesses during these challenging times.
