“I believe in teamwork. When everyone knows and understands what each of their colleagues does as well, you can tackle any situation” Name: Carla D’Orazio | Age: 55 | Marital Status : Married | Position: Italy and Czech Republic Manager | Years at EL AL: 27

How did you start working at EL AL? “On my last day at United Airlines, when they closed their offices in Rome, the manager of the EL AL Rome office saw me crying in the elevator. I told him what was going on, and he immediately asked me to send him my resume. A few weeks after this chance meeting, there I was, embarking on a new adventure as an EL AL employee, initially as a tickets and reservations agent at the company’s commercial office in Rome. Later, I moved on to working at the EL AL Fiumicino desk as security desk manager, then general desk manager, and eventually, in 2019, I was promoted country manager for Italy and the Czech Republic”. What does your position entail? “I manage and supervise all EL AL activities in Italy, commercial and

operative, and all operative activities in the Czech Republic. This includes ticket sales, representing the company vis à-vis local agencies, pilgrimage groups, airport management, governmental bodies, etc. It’s also my job to make sure company targets are met, and I’m responsible for all EL AL employees in Italy (in Rome, Milan, and Venice), as well as in Prague, in the Czech Republic”. What do you most love about your job? “My team. I believe in teamwork. When everyone knows and understands what each of their colleagues does as well, you can tackle any situation. Also, I love meeting our passengers and hearing about what a great time they had in Israel and how eager they are to repeat the experience”. Which part of your job do you find most challenging? “Every new day brings its

own new and interesting challenges”. What do you always pack with you? “A little doll my lovely family gave to me as a present. It always makes me feel them near me”. Which EL AL destination do you most enjoy flying to and why? “Japan. It’s such a different country from Italy – and therefore fascinating. And I love going to New York. It’s such a great city”. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? “I love swimming and going for evening walks with my dog”. What would you be doing, had you not joined EL AL? “I’d probably be a theatre actress”.
