The Paris Paralympic Games are set to open at the end of the month. The situation for the Israeli delegation this year will be more complex than ever, as Israel deals with negative global sentiment right now. Israeli representatives have already been booed at several international competitions, which has strengthened the understanding that support of Israeli athletes is essential. The Spirit Team will include thirty Israeli fans, flown to Paris at the company’s expense, as well as veterans injured in Operation Iron Swords and potential Paralympic athletes, volunteers who work with disabled IDF veterans, influencers, and members of the general public selected through an EL AL social media campaign. The initiative was fronted by EL AL brand ambassador Hanan Ben Ari, and Roland-Garros wheelchair tennis Paralympic Games in Paris.
