The summer holidays are now behind us, and even if the heat still makes an occasional comeback, it’s now possible to start getting excited about the arrival of Fall and the High Holidays. This time of year is ideal for weekends away with friends or with family as Israel offers such a diversity of sceneries and atmospheres – biblical desert landscapes in the south, emerald green natural springs in the north. We’ve chosen to mark the arrival of the High Holidays with two holiday suggestions: the first is Sukkot inspired and includes several options of resorts that offer stays in wood cabins and huts across the Negev desert; the second is an exploration of five beautiful natural springs in Israel’s Emek HaMaayanot region that lies between Afula and Beit Shean. There, you’ll be able to enjoy natural pools of gorgeous turquoise waters, walking trails and even slides that are immersed in the water, all

entirely for free, at walking distance from your vehicle. For those more inclined towards vacationing in an air-conditioned hotel, we’ve reviewed the beautiful Magdala Hotel, built on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, right next to an impressive archeological site discovered as the hotel was being constructed. The site includes the remains of the ancient fishermen’s village of Magdala, built in the 1 st century AD. It was recently named one of the Middle-East’s leading attractions for 2023 by TripAdvisor. Also this month: the new feature-filled Frequent Flyer Club loyalty program, an overview of new Israeli restaurants recently opened, culture and events’ guides, recommendations, gifts ideas, and more. The Lord bless thee, keep thee, the Lord make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee, the Lord turns His face unto thee, and gives thee peace. Amen.
