Hey, it’s Assaf! A few months ago, we embarked on a journey together. Where to, you ask? We began our journey heading towards a new onboard culinary experience. This journey entailed a few milestones along the way, such as joining the Tamam Kitchen, which is the largest airline caterer in the world, selecting premium ingredients, cooking many dishes so we can choose the best ones for you, connecting my vision to the EL AL vision and designing the hospitality and meal experiences onboard. Over the last month, EL AL’s professional crew and I have participated in the largest international exhibition - World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE), held in Hamburg, Germany. In this exhibition, we saw, examined, tasted, felt, smelled and tested endless products, kitchenware, accessories and more, which all aim to renew, improve and upgrade the hospitality experience onboard. We have learned so much, and now we are taking all this knowledge and building the last stop on this journey, which is the meal itself, just for you. See you soon!

This service is currently available for customers departing from Terminal 3. Subject to the terms and conditions on the EL AL website.

Leket Israel operations was founded in 2003 by Joseph Gitler, an immigrant from New York. The organization rescues fresh agricultural produce from farms and packing houses and cooked food from hotels, corporate cafeterias and IDF army bases and distributes it through a network of 265 non-profit partner agencies, feeding 234,000 Israelis in need on a weekly basis. The vulnerable populations served by Leket Israel include: the elderly, Holocaust survivors, youth at risk, the working poor and more. Leket Israel’s mission of safe, effective and efficient collection and distribution of surplus nutritious food is made possible by the incredible partnership with hundreds of farmers and food donors across the country, and with the help from over 50,000 volunteers annually. In preparation for the High Holidays, EL AL renews its personnel’s volunteer work with the “Leket” Israel foundation. To learn more visit: www.leket.org/en
