Meet the Crew

They welcome you with a smile when you arrive at the airport, make sure you are comfortable, and fly you safely to your destination – time to get up close and personal with the EL AL Israel Airlines ground and flight crew. Meet Legal Affairs Advocate Na'aran Zehory Azulay

"Not a day goes by here without learning something new"

Name: Na’aran Tzahuri Azulay | Age: 34 | Status: Married (+ 1 dog) | Position: Legal Affairs Advocate | Years at EL AL: 9

Profile

What led you to join EL AL? "I started working at EL AL as a stewardess in 2014 as a first-year law student. It was my dad’s idea as he’s always been passionate about aviation and thought I was well suited for the job. After more than five amazing years working as flight crew, I joined the legal department where I have been working for the past three and half years”. What does your position entail? “Each lawyer at the legal department takes care of specific fields of interest. Mine include some of the most interesting: commerce issues and frequent flyer’s club matters. EL AL lawyers provide legal assistance at every level – dealing with suppliers and/or business partners for e.g.- by gauging legal risks, planning and implementing company policies, etc.”. What do you most like about your job? “What I love the most is its diversity. Not a day goes by here without learning something new, and I’m constantly increasing my knowledge about a wide variety of subjects pertaining to the legal world, from consumerism to competition law, and more”. Which part of your job do you find most challenging? “Lawyers are often a company’s gatekeepers. Our goal is first and foremost to defend the company’s rights and

limit any potential legal exposure, while allowing the company as much commercial flexibility as possible within this framework. To me, everything depends on adopting the right attitude. The question I ask myself is ‘how do I make this happen’ instead of concentrating on the problems”. What do you always have in your suitcase? “Sports shoes – I always bring a pair with me, always!” Which EL AL destination do you most enjoy flying to and why? “New York; it has such great energy”. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? “I love going to the beach with my dog and my husband”. What would you be doing now had you not joined EL AL? “I’d be a swimming teacher for people with disabilities”.

Tips & Recommendations One of the most fascinating places I've been to is the Philippines. If you get a chance to go there, don't miss Moalboal, a tiny fishing village in the southern part of the Island of Cebu where you can go canyoneering in the beautiful Kawasan Falls. The Boracay Crimson Resort on the Island of Boracay is a great place to stay. In terms of restaurants, I recommend the Krua Thai in Amsterdam and the Palomar in London, but in my opinion, Israel has the best food in the world.
