Once you've sent out your last personal and business messages and taken the umpteenth airplane selfie, it's finally time for some serious YouTube surfing: here are three great live shows to delight the eyes and ears
Pink Floyd, Live in New York Legendary rock band Pink Floyd has just celebrated 50 years since The Dark Side of the Moon album landed in our ears – reason enough to mention them here. But the live concert uploaded in May 2022 was of another album of theirs: The delicate Sound of Thunder. Recorded in New York in 1988, the image quality is good (4K) and the sound not bad at all considering it was filmed 35 years ago. The concert includes all the signature Pink Floyd video projections and the greatest hits everybody loves, such as Wish you were here, Money time, etc. More than 1.6 million users are subscribed to Pink Floyd's YouTube page, and the show has already garnered 9.4 million views. It's a must-watch to any Pink Floyd fan, and to anyone looking to kill a couple of hours with some beautiful music and 80's nostalgia.
Adele, Live at the Royal Albert Hall
Spyro Gyra, Live at the Leverkusener Jazztage festival Jazz aficionados are going to love this concert by Grammy-award winning American jazz-fusion band. Spyro Gyra have performed live more than 10,000 times over the past five decades, achieving gold and platinum album status, recording more than 30 albums and selling more than ten million copies. Led on stage by saxophonist Jay Beckenstein, the band offers the audience a bonanza of jazz, R'n'B, pop, rock, Latin jazz, etc., creating something new and unique. Their passion for music and creative energy is just as communicative today as it was when they first began performing together all those years ago. This concert is an hour and twenty minutes of pure joy for any jazz-lover, and frankly, for anyone who loves music.
Uploaded to YouTube only recently, this concert dates back to 2011. But it matters not a bit, as an Adele concert is always fun to watch, especially during a flight. An hour and forty minutes-long, this full concert was shot in top image and sound quality, and includes all the hits: Rolling in the deep, Someone like you, Rumor has it, Hometown glory, etc. Adele's on stage banter is as usual disarmingly funny, and you can feel the love and energy toing-and-froing between her and the audience all through the show. Nowadays, after a few years away from the stage, she's back with wonderful new songs and the same velvety voice we all know and love.
