Editor’s Letter It’s fair to say with absolute certainty, that though Covid-19 is still lurking in the background of our lives, traveling has been back with a bang. The 250 thousand tourists who visited Israel in July 2022 (compared with the 49 thousand of that same period in 2021), attest to that. Forecasts for 2023 are even more optimistic. Our magazine is bursting with ideas for where to go and what to see in Israel this winter, and though the winter season is usually pleasantly clement and warm here, there’s always a yearning for a bit of snow. There’s nothing quite like witnessing the beautiful Golan Heights covered in that magical white blanket of fluff. The Golan has recently gone through a real tourism renaissance, with hotels, camping sites, B&Bs, restaurants, farmers’ markets, trek trails and more, mushrooming across the region. In this

issue, you’ll find our recommendations for what to see and do in the Upper Golan Heights, where you can choose between staying in a kibbutz village resort or a traditional Druze hotel (and the two are not mutually exclusive!), or opt for an experiential stay at a glamping site, bask in the beauty of the region’s fauna and flora, and enjoy its many culinary delights.
