Upon completion of the team's work, its recommendations will be transferred for decision at government level. D. Palestinians

Over 80 thousand Palestinian laborers are working in Israel under Section 6 of the Law Implementing the Agreement on Gaza Strip and Jericho Area (Economic Arrangements and Other Provisions) (Legislative Amendments)-1994. These workers are employed primarily in the construction, agriculture, and industry and services sectors. The uniqueness of these workers, in contrast to other foreign workers, is that they commute daily to work from their homes in the Palestinian Authority and do not live with their employer. There are therefore several arrangements pertaining to social rights that apply to these workers differently than they do to other foreign workers. During 2021, the Unit strove to ensure that its contact details also appear on Palestinian workers' pay slips. As a result, a marked increase was recorded in the number of queries received from Palestinian workers during 2021. While 35 Palestinians contacted the Commissioner's Unit in 2020, this figure jumped to 109 in 2021. The large number of queries from employers in 2019 stemmed from a change in the method of payment of sick pay to Palestinian workers employed in Israel. The change raised many questions among employers, and these were referred to the attention of the Commissioner's Unit. Palestinian Workers' Pay Slips
