EL AL NEWS New on board: safety videos that take you to your destination before you even land

Millions of EL AL passengers have watched Lior Suchard’s safety video over the years. (Remember the card trick?) We even have one passenger who has watched the video nearly 500 times and 60,000 passengers who have watched it more than 60 times each. In a first-of-its-kind worldwide initiative, advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology has been integrated into the production of the new safety video series. The series includes about 10 different videos tailored to specific destinations, so instead of showing the same video on every flight, the visual elements change according to the destination. In addition, some flights include destination recommendations and suggestions for things to do during your stay. The initiative was produced in collaboration with Samsung. This technology makes it possible to refresh and update the content over time, tailor it to different destinations and continue enhancing the travel experience for years to come. Enjoy the viewing experience and have a safe flight!

Israeli innovation takes flight with EL AL EL AL has joined a groundbreaking initiative led by Boeing, the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer, together with the Technion – the Israel Institute of Technology, to develop sustainable jet fuel. The collaboration reflects the commitment to advancing innovation and strengthening the connection between academic research and the aviation industry. Boeing has been strategically and consistently promoting the development of alternative aviation fuels. As part of this effort, the initiative includes the establishment of an innovation center at the Technion in Haifa, focusing on technologies for producing sustainable alternative jet fuel (SAF – Sustainable Aviation Fuel) from green hydrogen and carbon dioxide, with the goal of promoting a cleaner and more environmentally friendly future for aviation. The Technion, one of the world’s leading science and engineering institutions of academia and research, has long driven breakthrough developments that influence many industries, including aviation. The partnership between Boeing, the Technion, and EL AL brings together scientific expertise, advanced technology, and aviation experience — advancing sustainable solutions for the skies. From the Technion’s laboratories, combined with Boeing’s powerful global reach, Israeli innovation continues to soar with EL AL towards the skies of the future. There are new and innovative safety videos on board! After about a decade in which EL AL’s safety video featuring Lior Suchard accompanied passengers on their journey to and from their destination, we are proud to introduce a new series of safety videos created using a unique kind of technology. The new videos feature Gal Gadot, Rotem Sela, Deni Avdija and Lior Raz, some of Israel’s most successful global stars. In recent years, safety videos produced by leading airlines have evolved into major productions. Instead of traditional instructional videos, airlines are incorporating creativity, humor and internationally recognized celebrities, all with the goal of increasing attention to important safety instructions.
