Lots of things are happening in the tourism world this summer, from new destination routes opening up to AI powered technologies transforming the way we travel and experience the world. The launch of the new EL AL travel platform marks the start of the airline’s integration of all these recent tech innovations. Its new safety video blends AI ingeniousness with quality content, creating an exciting viewing experience crafted to suit each and every flight. The safety video features internationally celebrated Israeli stars, including actresses Gal Gadot and Rotem Sela (on our cover this month). Alongside the safety instructions, the video contains fascinating stories and information about EL AL’s many destinations, and it is constantly updated and readapted to each viewing experience (full article on page 26). Tech innovations are also becoming increasingly integrated into the way we travel. In the Old City of Akko for instance, a new sound and light show is being projected onto the walls of the ancient Crusader Citadel throughout the summer

months, offering a video-mapping experience like no other. The show, as well as a series of other initiatives, is part of a general push to bring back visitors to this exceptionally beautiful part of the country, after it was almost completely deserted these past three years, with the breakout of the war. We made our way north to experience the launch of the show, and to discover anew the magical alleyways, markets, and harbor of the ancient city, and came back with a whole host of recommendations for the ultimate visit there (see page 18). Also this month: our recommendations for fun evening outings across Israel, a look at the artistic program of this year’s Israel Festival, an overview of some of this month’s main cultural events, a selection of our favorite road trip restaurants, and more.
