Art The 9 th Biennale for Drawing in Israel The 9 th Biennale for Drawing opened in Jerusalem last month and will run until next February. It features 77 artists and hundreds of artworks all focusing on the notion of shedding. Shedding is one of the most fascinating and mysterious phenomena in the living world – that moment when an animal sheds its old skin in order to grow a new one, amounting to both an end and a beginning. The Biennale offers an opportunity to look deeper into this phenomenon via a wide range of works that all demonstrate the power and relevance of drawing as a medium still today. The main exhibition is held at the Jerusalem Artists’ House, with additional ones on display at Ticho House, the Jerusalem Print Workshop, and Koresh 14 Gallery. art.org.il/en

Jerusalem atmosphere. The clean and bright design combines natural stone with shades of white, copper gold, and brown, creating a warm, cozy atmosphere. The hotel, located opposite the Jerusalem Theater, is a five-star deluxe (from the MGallery brand collection of the French Accor group), and offers 73 rooms - three suites, deluxe and superior rooms, and three accessible rooms. The hotel structure is beautiful from the outside, with its wide lobby looking out onto the street, and side buildings with their rooms spread across three floors. There also are luxury apartments for rent with separate entrances and elevators on the upper floors. The hotel welcomes guests with children, but keep in mind that beyond two children, you will probably need to book an extra room. The hotel also has a beautiful synagogue so that religious and observant guests can spend a perfect weekend in a peaceful Shabbat atmosphere. The hotel regularly collaborates with galleries, the nearby Jerusalem Theater, and various museums, to also offer guests a cultural experience that’ll delightfully complement their stay. Hotel guests enjoy free parking right next to the hotel. December prices: from NIS 1,290 during the week (for two, per night), from NIS 1,590 on the weekend (for two, per night).
