Dance | Kuma – Vertigo Across Israel

“The truth has many faces, and each moment is an opportunity to make a conscious choice”, says choreographer Noa Wertheimer, cocreator of the Vertigo Dance Company’s new piece, Kuma. A unique collaboration between composer Itamar Doari and choreographers Noa Wertheim and Rina Wertheim-Koren, Kuma moves between set dance structures and improvisation, aspiring to inhabit the space between music and movement. The audience is gradually drawn in, invited to glimpse into this inspirational space. The piece was created out of a will to feel the movement of the heart as it contracts and expands, and to follow the movement of the eyes as they open and close. To counter the chaos of today’s reality, the dancers look for an anchor to hold onto, as they rise and fall, finding space between sound and movement, in search of a moment’s rest.
